The Equity in Governance project started to be implemented in Albania in January 2007 and has these main components (i) Capacity building at central level and the establishment of collaboration with institutions of public administration (DoPA, TIPA); (ii) completion of engendering and coaching activities at municipality level; (iii) Monitoring the implementation of the Gender Action Plan and the gender equality through the Citizen Score Card methodology; and (v) organizing the conference on "Gender Equality & Local Governance". GADC has been a partner in the implementation of the "Equity in Governance" Project during all the time of its implementation as a fiscal agent, but as an implementer as well of the Component Three, which aimed at accessing the community needs and priorities in a participatory manner in the above Municipalities. GADC implemented successfully the Monitoring Reports on the Implementation of the Gender Action Plan and the Gender Equality, using the Citizen Score Card Methodology in the Municipalities of Gramsh, Berat, Lushnja and Laç. Component Three was implemented in 2 parts, pre and post local elections of May 8, 2011 in Albania. In total this project was implemented in 7 stages. In total 348 individuals, 232 girls and women and 116 boys and men, benefited directly from the activities of this project.
