Meeting with Women Employees of Different Garment and Footwear Production Factories in Tirana

On April 2, 2024, Gender Alliance for Development Center brought together in a special meeting women employees of the garment and footwear production sector in Tirana. The discussion centered around the topic: "Advancement of women's rights in the labor market."

At the meeting, the importance of fair and equal payments for women's work was discussed. Work contracts for women workers in the garment and footwear manufacturing sector were examined, analyzing the details of work types, such as individual, collective, fixed-term and indefinite-term contracts. Discussions focused on rights and risks at work and addressed issues such as illness, provisions for pregnant women, night work, maternity, childcare, parental leave, working hours, shift work, weekly working hours and annual leave. Also, cooperation between women workers in the garment industry and their role in improving working conditions were examined. This initiative aims to promote a society where gender rights are respected and wages are fair and decent for all employees.
